CHEEKTOWAGA, NY- 50 automated external defibrillators were donated to volunteer fire companies Monday night in honor of a five-year-old girl who passed away from sudden cardiac arrest.
In the the 13 years since her daughter Madison's death, Suzy McCarthy has placed hundred of AEDs across Western New York through the work of the Madison McCarthy Cardiac Care Coalition for Children foundation.
"So far in New York State we saved 96 lives and 49 have been children, just in a school setting," Suzy McCarhty said.

I urge everyone to learn how to provide first aid: a child, an adult. Anyone. At our request, will be paid to the importance of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but only if we have 10 people. I think this is a very useful thing and myself had already passed such courses. You will learn many necessary things that will help you to get out in a difficult situation.
For example, in cardiac arrest, you will learn how to support a person’s life, a child, before the arrival of the ambulance. You will be shown a simulator automated external defibrillators (AED). But the program activities includes also many other things that are also interesting and necessary in our lives.
On 25-29th of August 2012 there was held the European Society of Cardiology Congress in Munich. There were presented not only European scientists and doctors, but also many guests from different countries. Among the discussed themes there were problems of cardiosurgery and prevention of sudden death of children, teenagers and sportsmen.
I will tell you, how I was studying to give first aid.
